Daniel Tan began his career in 1996 with Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad (now known as Maybank Investment Bank Berhad), where he gained a strong foundation in investment banking and corporate finance. In 2000, he moved to Singapore to join the Mergers and Acquisitions department at Tokyo-Mitsubishi International Singapore, and later continued his Mergers and Acquisitions journey with Rabobank International, also based in Singapore. In mid-2004, Daniel returned to Malaysia and joined AFG Global, a New Zealand-based boutique private wealth and advisory services firm. In 2008, Daniel transitioned into the commercial sector by joining Gula Perak Berhad, where he was responsible for overseeing the group’s corporate finance and restructuring activities. Between 2012 and 2022, Daniel was actively involved in various private enterprises, serving in diverse capacities including Director of Finance, Head of Corporate Strategy, Business Development Lead, and as a business owner. His broad exposure across industries and functions has equipped him with a holistic perspective on business operations, strategy, and growth.

Select assignments include his involvement in the listing of Port Dickson Power Berhad, Hunza Consolidation Berhad, CNLT (Far East) Berhad, and Hunza Properties Berhad, as well as advisory roles in strategic transactions involving Time Engineering Berhad, Paramount Assurance Berhad, and Jerneh Insurance Berhad. He also worked on cross-border M&A transactions involving assets in Thailand and Indonesia, including plantation divestments and food sector acquisitions.

Daniel graduated from the University of Queensland, Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1992 and obtained his Masters in Financial Management in 1995 from the same university. He brings over 29 years of experience across investment banking, private wealth management, and senior corporate roles.
